MeWe: The Why and the How for Small Business

MeWe for Small Business

The Great Facebook Exodus of 2020

Within the last 48 hours, there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of posts on my Facebook feed sharing that they are leaving Facebook and headed to MeWe.

What is MeWe and why is this happening so suddenly?

Well, let’s start with the fact that November 3, 2020, is a date that will go down in history. The election and the events in the days that followed are being talked about everywhere and in many other countries as well.

As I am writing this we still do not have final answers as to who, legally and honestly, is our president. The news media outlets have declared a winner; however, the allegations of fraud are widespread across many of the critical states.

Facebook has been censoring conservative groups and pages in a major way. Groups that have not violated the terms and conditions of the platform are being closed without notice. Groups of over 450,000 members just vanished overnight.

Why you might ask?  Simply put Facebook is trying to silence the conservative voices.

Many of those conservative voices began to look for a platform that followed the values of the United States Constitution.

Enter Mewe.

MeWe offers a level of privacy, transparency, and control that gives the user confidence knowing that what you see is what you get. The user controls their feed and how it appears.

Their slogan, “Your private life is #Not4Sale No Ads. No Spyware. No BS.” showcases WHY so many have gladly switched over to MeWe.

In addition, their homepage shares a lengthy  Privacy Bill of Rights that has many shouting for joy!

What can MeWe offer your business?

As with any newer social media platform, we do not know how things will develop over the next 3, 6 & 9 months. Will it take off as projected or will it fizzle out?

Many business owners simply do not want another place to have to post for their business; however, it could be advantageous to set up a business page or group.

Although MeWe was started in 2016, I believe 2020 will be the year that this platform skyrockets. No matter what happens on the political playing field in the next two to three months the one thing that rings true is the importance of FREEDOM OF SPEECH. That is something that is monumentally important to so many Americans and they will stick with this platform if Facebook continues the absurd censorship.

With that being said, setting up a business page and/or group can’t hurt. MeWe offers a scheduler on the business pages and that would provide the ability to create a couple of weeks’ worth of content at one time. Give it a go for 60-90 days and see what happens.
